I really like this author's writing. We had a wonderful discussion about the book last night at book club.

At first, I was skeptical - an author writing a book about an author - yawn. But I was drawn in by the characters and the growing mysteries. We follow Olivia (Via Belle) in the early 1940s and Harper in 2006. Olivia is a 46 year old novelist and widow. Harper is a twenty-something aspiring screenwriter.

Apparently, Libby removed all my highlighted sections. I've never had this happen before. Even if a book has been early returned and I've gotten it again weeks later. My bookmarks are there. Now I have zero. Perhaps reading it on both my phone and my tablet caused an issue? When it synchronized between devices it must have just noted where I was in the book and not what I had saved. A new learning experience . . .

I loved how the author dropped little clues and foreshadowing. I love how a fairly simple story turned into a mystery that kept me "turning pages" until I found out the ending. The moonflowers were a neat theme throughout the book.

Olivia / Harper / Simon / Izzy / Angel / Eli / Kelsey / Sissy / Louie . . . the symbolism of good and bad, lovely and deadly . . . a wonderful book.
